Pointer puppies are very energetic and are tireless breeds. They have a very good built and their muscles are very strong. They are medium sized dog. A male pointer puppy weighs around 60 pounds and a female pointer puppy weighs 50 pounds. Normally male pointers are 27 inches in height and female pointers are 24 inches in height. Appropriate weight and height are essential for the puppy to be active and healthy. They run faster. They were initially used has hunting dogs. So they have its instinct though they are trained. Their full body is covered by its coat. Their coat is short. So it does not need regular trimming. The coat is shiny, silky and less dense. So they do not become dirty. The color of the coat can be white, black, brown, lemon, etc. It can of bicolor also. Its head is very long. It has a medium sized face with brown eyes that are spaced out well. Their eyes are oval in shape with dark circles around their eyes. They have thick eyebrows. Its ears are round in shape. They do not hang loosely. Pale pink colored ears are not advisable for a healthy dog. It has a dark brown color nose that projects out of its face. Their nostrils are widely opened. They have a long muzzle. Their fore limbs are straight and their elbows are very close. Their hind limbs are parallel ad straight that may be bent inside or outside. They have a webbed foot.
